Members should check on the Value Line index 5 minutes before the close and determine if the index must be bought or sold. Most of the time the index at 5 minutes before the close will either be at a level far away from either a buy or sell so no action has to be taken. However, sometimes the index is very close to either a buy or sell or the market is moving so fast that it might not be possible to see if the index is closing at a level that a buy or sell would be indicated. In these circumstances members should wait for the next day to make the trade. The system of prenotification is not perfect. I believe that it will be a more efficient system from what did exist prior to the new procedure. One caveat is in order here. I assume that the member has access to up to the minute quotes and not delayed quotes. To use the 5 minute rule one must have up to the minute quotes.
5 minutes before the close is a good tip. Yahoo! Finance is suppose to have real-time quotes, not on the chart, but on the top of the page is says "real time" and another quoted price appears there. If you chose Yahoo! the symbol is ^VAY. This is for the Value Line Arithmetic Index and not the Geometric Index.
